I am the director of the Applied Behavior Analysis graduate programs at Queens College, CUNY. We have two programs in the Psychology Department, a Master's and Certificate program. Through the Graduate Center, we also have a Ph.D. program in Behavior Analysis.
Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis
The Master's in ABA program is housed in the Psychology Department at Queens College. The program is approved by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board for the education component of national certification. The program is considered to meet the education requirement for the New York State License in Behavior Analysis. The program is a 36-credit program in Applied Behavior Analysis that includes ABA coursework that exceeds that needed for national certification and the NY State License. Beyond the classroom, students enrolled in this program have the opportunity to get training at SIBS Club, local human service organizations with which we partner, and in research labs like ACE Lab.
Advanced Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis
The ABA Certificate program is housed within the Psychology Department at Queens College. The program is approved by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board for the coursework component of national certification. The program is considered to meet the coursework requirement for the New York State License in Behavior Analysis. The program is 18-credits and is intended to compliment a Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Psychology, Education, Special Education) toward becoming nationally certified and licensed in the state of New York.
Ph.D. in Behavior Analysis
CUNY offers a Ph.D. Psychology program through the Graduate Center. The Ph.D. program offers a number of specializations; I am a faculty member in the Behavior Analysis Training Area. Students enrolled in the Ph.D. program complete intensive coursework in basic and applied behavior analysis. The program focuses on research and students work in a lab, like ACE Lab, with the respective mentor. This program is accredited by the Association for Behavior Analysis International. While the program is sponsored by the Graduate Center, students enrolled in the program take classes at Queens College and work in research labs at Queens College.
